Bower Retreat is very comfortable, fully self contained, pet friendly, self catering accommodation in a four bedroom country cottage. It is situated at Main Creek, near Dungog, in the Barrington Tops area of NSW, Australia, Bower Retreat is just 2 1/2 hours drive from Sydney. It is great for couples, family or group getaways, weekends, holidays and vacations.

Children are catered for, with an open area in front of the cottage great for games and riding bikes. "Farm" bikes are supplied. Children also enjoy feeding the cows and poultry and collecting eggs. A table tennis table is set up in the double garage for family games.

Three bedrooms open onto the verandah and garden which is alive with native Australian birds. A popular feature of Bower Retreat is the outdoor shower and "loo with a view" (curtain provided for the more modest guests), which looks out to the subtropical rainforest creek directly behind the cottage. The cottage accommodation has views to the imposing Black Bulga Range and its forests.

The rainforest creek is just perfect for exploring along with the rest of the 56 acre property. A well marked track leads from the cottage and guides visitors to the far end of the property through beautiful rainforest and bushland. Bower Retreat is a bird watchers paradise, (with our own resident satin bower birds of course). Approximately 90 species of birds have been sighted on the property including bower birds, glossy black cockatoos, and lyre birds.

Enjoy a dip in the swimming pool with spectacular views of the Black Bulga range and forest. Marion, the Bower's owner is an experienced, fully qualified Austswim accredited swimming instructor and is available to give swimming lessons in the pool on request.

Main Creek, the Barrington Tops and the Dungog area offer fabulous views and scenic country for trailriding. Guests are welcome to bring their own horses. Bower Retreat has a secure paddock near the cottage for visitors' horses. Guests who do not bring their own horses can take a guided horseback ecotour with Topline Park, nearby.
