Design,
Colour and Shape in Art Clothing Retreat
In
this increasingly fast world enjoy a relaxing weekend at the Bower.
Explore the sensational rainforest canopy, photograph your favourite
view and then express yourself making the perfect
handcrafted fashion garment for yourself or as a gift.
Learn how to create your own patterns and design your clothing to
help make you look sensational with colour and style.
This
is a design workshop suitable
for intermediate to advanced spinners, intermediate to advanced
weavers, beginning dressmakers, traditional and freeform crocheters,
and knitters who want to make fashion garments that flatter and
fit.
Over
the weekend you will explore the wonderful rainforest surrounding
the Bower, photograph your chosen area.
Then, using the inspiration from your photographs to sketch a design
for a garment, and using pattern blocks make a simple pattern for
a handspun, handknitted, crocheted, handwoven or machine embroidered
garment that fits and flatters.
Commence
construction of the yarns or fabric, make your knitting swatches
and commence your knitting or crocheting, or machine the surface
decoration of your fabric for the garment
you have designed.
A
teacher with extensive experience teaching textiles
